Julia Mayer and Todd Stewart opened a cafe in Santa Barbara, with the goal of giving their community a special place to enjoy delicious coffee. Their optimism and hard work paid off and by 2016, they reinvented themselves as Dune Coffee Roasters. They remain at the forefront of delicious coffee, taking 2nd place at the United States Barista Championship in 2018 and 2020.
